I gave away some ti and papaya plants which began growing on the newly graded areas. Also I planted a couple coconut trees, which my neighbor gave me. I found a few cherry tomato plants hiding all over, but it appears the wild turkeys may be eating them. They certainly like mangos, so I suspect the tomatoes are suffering the same fate.

My friend Sandra has had her hands full with dogs. She raises Labrador Retrievers as a business (AlohaLabradors.Com). Recently two dogs have had litters and at one point she had 19 dogs on her property at one time! While dog owners on the mainland have been worried about their food supply, Sandra doesn't have that concern because she makes her own food for the dogs. They are in perfect health and really cute and loveable.

There is a long story about "Bonnie" a chocolate lab and her puppies, but I'll leave that story for another time.

Our Kona Coffee Farmers Association ordered some bumper stickers, which have our 100 Kona logo on them (the same one we put on out coffee bags). The sticker at the top reads "GET REAL!" in black, with the seal in the middle of the two words. The bottom reads "100% Kona Coffee" in green. Simple but effective.

Sandra and I are packing a lot of coffee for an event this weekend. We are selling coffee, honey and other items at the Hale Halewai at an orchid show. I personally will have both medium and dark roasts in sizes from 2 ounce and up. Sandra is preparing a gift basket or two. If they don't sell at the event, we will offer them on our websites.

It is sunny this morning, so I will head out and kill some weeds. It will not be long before some ground cover will go down and the area will be partitioned off for new coffee plants. I hope to have these plants in the ground this year and there they will stay for decades.
